The Audi A8 is a four door, full size, luxury-sedan car made by German automobile company Audi since 1994. The high-performance version of the A8 was debuted in 1996 as S8. It is produced at the Audi's Neckarsulm plant. The S8 was unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show in 2011, and went on sale in spring 2012. Taiwan models started to sell in 2013.

The engine has cylinder deactivation system so it can also run as a V4 for fuel efficiency. Surprisingly the S8's engine is shared with the beautiful and powerful Bentley Continental GT. A detuned variant of the engine produces 420 hp which is founf in the 2013 Audi S6, Audi S7 and Audi A8. The S8's direct competitors are the BMW Alpina B7 anthe Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG, which also have biturbo V8 engines.
